Canon Character Information
Appearance: Tess Morgan is a slender woman standing at a height of 5’7 inches with long, honey blonde hair. Her smile is often fond, and sometimes teasing. And her grin lights up her face. More often than not she wears jeans and button-downs (usually stolen from her husband), something comfortable that’s easy to move and work in. She spends a lot of time in the lab, after all, and she wants to be comfortable.
She can, and does, dress up when the situation calls for it, though. Galas, events, fundraisers; things that are important to the future of their lab, just important to their future, those she dresses up for.
History: Tess Morgan owned a lab with her husband, Harrison Wells, in Starling City, and there were plans in the works to found a lab in the heart of Central City; he sketched it and she gave it its name. As flattering as his wanting to name it Technological Engineering Scientific Studies, or T.E.S.S., was. It was named for him, instead, per Tess’ suggestion of Scientific and Technological Advanced Research Laboratories, or S.T.A.R Labs (“Because you, Harrison Wells, are the only star I see”).
In the original timeline, Tess Morgan and Harrison Wells lived happily together and founded their S.T.A.R Labs, and in 2020 created the particle accelerator. There was an explosion, much as there was in the current timeline, and metahumans were created.
Then Eobard happened.
He went back in time to kill Barry, DIDN’T kill Barry, killed his mom instead, then lost his speed due to the aforementioned murder, and needed to get it back. So he caused a car wreck that killed Tess, and injured Harrison, before proceeding to turn Tess’ husband into a DNA sippy cup to steal his identity so he could speed up S.T.A.R Labs’ creation and get his speed back. Hiding Harrison’s body on the side of the road (to be found many years later by Cisco and Joe).
Dick move, Eobard. Dick move.
Personality: Tess is an absolutely lovely woman, with a huge heart. And she loves Harrison Wells with all of it. She is comfortable, with herself, with her intelligence, and with her place in the scientific community. She is gentle, and caring, but she’s not staid. Far from it. Yes, she’s respectable, of course, but she’s adventurous, too. Playful and teasing. And her confidence comes easily, the same way she’s comfortable in her own skin. She is good at what she does; it’s not bragging, it’s not boasting. It’s just... fact. For as smart as her husband is, Tess Morgan is smarter.
She’s in science for the SCIENCE itself, not business or anything of the sort. She knows how to run a business, given that in the original timeline she was part of S.T.A.R Labs foundation and it was successful. But it’s not WHY she does it. She loves it, loves the possibility of it. The creativity of it. There’s so much to learn.
She’s stubborn, too, able to go toe to toe with anyone, pretty much, and keeping a tone of friendly politeness. That only goes so far, though, and while her temper is something of a gentle thing, it’s no less striking. No less attention-getting. She’s protective, too. Fiercely protective of the people she cares about. Her husband is a gentle soul, and she does not let anyone insult him. Speak badly of him.
Her strength comes from that stubbornness and that fierce protectiveness, from that huge heart and the love she feels for Harrison. For those she cares about. Her friends. She has so much determination. To do good, to help the world. To improve things.
She’s sensible, and adaptable, able to think on the fly and come up with possible solutions, hypotheses, theories. But she’s not a metahuman, or super-powered or a trained fighter. She’s just a stubborn, kind-hearted woman with a genius-level intellect. Thinking her way out of situations is her main option. Her only option. Although if she had to she would pick up an improvised weapon to protect someone she cared about.
The loss of her father had an effect on her, and she was no more acutely aware of his loss than when she fell in love with Harrison Wells. Her father would have loved him as much as she does.
Powers/Abilities/Talents: She is first and foremost a scientist, and as smart a genius as her husband was... she was even more so, able to finish research and development in a fraction of the time it took Harrison. We didn’t have much chance to SEE that in canon, because Eobard was an asshole, but given what we do know I can only assume that she has a vast scientific ability. Multiple majors and areas of study, graduated high school early (much like her child on Earth-2). Engineering, physics (advanced and otherwise), biochem, mechanical engineering, particle physics, quantum mechanics, and mathematics, at the very least. She probably has a head for business, too, given the co-founding of what would be a successful scientific company in the original timeline. Sensible, adaptable. Able to think on the fly. And come up with solutions, usually. Or something to TRY, at least.
AU/CR AU Addendum: N/A
What 4 items would you like your character to have with them on the island during their stay? The sketch of S.T.A.R Labs that her husband drew that day on the beach, shortly before the car accident that Eobard caused, Harrison’s comfortable worn jacket, a photo of her, Harrison and Tina when they were younger, and a pocket watch that belonged to her father.

[It takes Tess a moment to gather herself to use the device she was given. This isn’t where she was. It isn’t where she’s supposed to be. But it’s where she is. Which means she needs to figure out where that is and what’s going on. Why she’s not hurt. Dying. Dead. She’s pretty sure she was dying before she arrived here. And the information she was given doesn’t tell her anything about how that happened.
Although she’s glad. Dying isn’t... it’s not something she’s keen on experiencing the rest of the way. So she picks up her device and gets to work.
The video feed clicks on to reveal a blonde woman who looks remarkably at ease considering she’s just woken up somewhere she wasn’t just a few moments ago. She gives the feed a smile.]
I’m Dr. Tess Morgan, just recently arrived, and I was curious if anyone has any theories yet on how we’ve all come to be here. I’m sure questions have been asked, since I’m certainly not among the first to have been brought here. But have there been any answers?
Beyond the information we’re given when we reach the docks.

Finally, out of the 4 words, pick one: Chimes, lake, gravel, or sun? Lake.
